Colombia – The Niño Jesús Symphonic Band wins first prize at the 28th Pedro Ignacio Castro Perilla National Competition

Anapoima, Colombia – November 2025 – The Niño Jesús Symphonic Band in Bogotá won first prize at the 28th National Pedro Ignacio Castro Perilla Symphonic Band Competition, held from 1 to 3 November in the municipality of Anapoima (Cundinamarca). The event, recognised as one of the most important music competitions in Colombia, brought together the best symphonic bands in the country for a cultural celebration that highlighted talent, discipline and passion for music. The triumph of the Salesian band reflects the commitment, holistic training and Salesian spirit that characterise the young musicians of the Salesian work. Under the direction of their teacher, Kevin Gomez Henao, the band performed a repertoire that captivated the jury and the audience, consolidating its position as one of the best exponents of the national band movement.
